Tuff Nuff Sets MMA Attendance Record!
Tuff Nuff Mixed Martial Arts Fight Promotion Celebrated Their 20th Anniversary on June 7, 2014 at The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tuff Nuff CEO Jeff Meyer was looking to set new MMA Attendance Record and he succeeded! They had over 14,489 people in the house to witness the largest amateur MMA event ever! What a powerful way to honor his brother, the late Barry Meyer.
Barry and Jeff Meyer started Tuff Nuff in 1994. Over the past 20 years they have worked with some of the biggest names in MMA. A number of their Tuff Nuff fighters have moved on to fight in the big show in the UFC including Ronda Rousey, Jon Fitch, Ryan Couture and about 20 others.
Barry and Jeff Meyer have followed their HEART and DREAM which in turn has allowed hundreds and probably thousands of fighters to live their dream of fighting in the cage MMA style.
All I can say is Saturday night was SPECTACULAR! The Thomas & Mack Center was packed. They had 13 fights on the card. When the crowded roared it was like thunder. It was a terrific celebration.
What an incredible way to honor the late Barry Meyer. Tuff Nuff is just getting bigger and better. Way to go to CEO Jeff Meyer and his entire TEAM!

Barry Meyer, the past TUFF-N-Uff President,(who passed away in November 2013) and his brother Jeff instilled in me the LOVE of MMA! I attended my first Tuff-N-Uff Mixed Martial Arts Event in 2009. Jacob “Stitch” Duran was the one that encouraged me to attend. I met Stitch on the ” Rocky Balboa” movie set in 2005. And we’d talk every so often and finally I attended my first TUFF-N-UFF fight and I’ver been a FAN and covering live MMA events ever since.

Mayhem in Mesquite IV
The Future Stars of MMA returns to the CasaBlanca Resort on Saturday March 1, 2014 as Tuff-n-Uff presents Mayhem in Mesquite IV.
This will be the third time I have covered Tuff-N-Uff MMA at the CasaBlanca, in Mesquite. It’s a short ride from Las Vegas. In less than an hour, you’re there. Make it a weekend getaway.

Barry Meyer President of Tuff-N-Uff Passes Away
Barry Meyer, President of The Mixed Martial Arts Organization Tuff-N-Uff, Passed Away on Wednesday, October 15, 2013 After a Long Battle With Depression.
Barry’s brother, Jeff Meyer, Vice-President of Tuff-N-Uff confirmed during a conversation with MMAJunkie.com that Barry Meyer had passed away and taken his own life.
“Barry fought valiantly against depression for several years,” Jeff said. “Today, unfortunately, he lost that battle.”
Tuff-N-Uff was founded in 1994. The purpose was to promote combat sports. In reality, what Barry Meyer did over the past 20 years, along with his brother Jeff was help young fighters to realize a dream. The dream to compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Some wanted to fight just to do it, while others trained with the hopes that maybe someday, they may be good enough to fight in a big show like UFC. And some of those Tuff-N-Uff fighters have realized that DREAM. Those UFC fighters include Ronda Rousey, Ryan Couture and Jon Fitch, all of whom have competed in a Tuff-N-Uff event.
I met Barry Meyer in 2009 at the Orleans Hotel Casino at a Tuff-N-Uff event.This was my first MMA event. I took hundreds of photos of the event. Then created a short video over from all the photos which I posted on Youtube. I created the video for LasVegasNewsBlog.com. A few short days later I received an email from Barry Meyer saying, ” Great Video! Hope to see you again at the next Tuff-N-Uff event.” To which I responded, ” Get me Press Credentials and I’ll be at every fight.”
Sure enough, the next Tuff-N-Uff I had my own seat ring side with my name on it and I’ve been attending ever since.
Barry Meyer was a DREAM BUILDER, Great Friend and Very Kind person. He touched and inspired the soul and spirit of thousands of MMA fans and fighters over his 20 year career. Barry Meyer will be greatly missed in the MMA community. I will miss my friend.
