LAS VEGAS – December 22, 2014 – The nominations are in for the annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards, and today Rob Hewitt, CEO of Fighters Only Magazine, revealed the Names.
Categories and Awards that will make 2015 the most exciting, comprehensive and premier event in the mixed martial arts industry. Hewitt also proudly announced that Brian Stann and Nicole Dabeau will return as event hosts.
The Seventh Annual World MMA Awards will take place Friday, January 30, 2015 live from The Venetian Las Vegas. Advance Tickets are available through awardsvip@gmail.com.
As with previous events, Fighters Only once again gives fans the power to determine who takes home a World MMA Award. Fans can cast their votes through their mobile devices, smart phones or PCs via the official website now live at www.WorldMMAAwards.com.
This year, for the first time ever, the MMA Awards reflects a full calendar year of action. The following event categories include everything that transpired from Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 20, 2014. This gives the Seventh Annual Awards status as the most accurate and comprehensive event in Fighters Only history.

Fighters Only proudly presents “The Seventh Annual World MMA Awards” Friday, January 30, 2015 live from The Venetian Las Vegas.
“Seven years ago, Fighters Only launched the ‘World MMA Awards’ as a way to honor fighters, fights, personalities and promotions and to celebrate this modern day sports phenomenon called mixed martial arts,” said Rob Hewitt, President and CEO of Fighters Only. “This year we return to The Venetian Theatre and the ‘Fight Capital of the World’ Friday, Jan. 30, for another star-studded, black-tie event dedicated to MMA and all the incredible fans of our sport.”

This year, there are 22 Award categories, including Fight of the Year, Knockout of the Year and Fighter of the Year. Fan voting begins precisely at 12:01 AM EST Monday, Dec. 22.

LAS VEGAS STRIP MURDER SUSPECT IDENTIFIED,
VEHICLE IMPOUNDED
VEHICLE LOCATED SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT AREA APARTMENT COMPLEX, The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the person believed to be responsible for the deadly shooting and the resulting vehicle collision that
resulted in two additional deaths that occurred on Las Vegas Boulevard on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
The person police suspect fired the shots is now identified as 26 year old Ammar Harris. Harris is a black male adult who is 5’ 11” 180 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Harris goes by the name of Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, and variations of that name. Harris’ photograph accompanies this release. A photograph of the vehicle is also attached.
At approximately 4:20 a.m. on February 21, LVMPD Officers responded to the intersection of Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard to investigate reports of a multivehicle collision. Arriving officers determined the deadly collision was caused by a vehicle which abruptly entered the intersection after being involved in an altercation during which shots were fired.
The altercation is believed to have originated in the valet parking area of a nearby hotel. Ammar Harris, the driver of a Black Range Rover, discharged several rounds from a firearm into a Maserati driven by Kenneth Cherry. Both vehicles continued Northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard. The Maserati entered the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, causing a multi-car collision. One of the vehicles involved was a taxi cab which caught fire following the collision.
