Las Vegas Cowboys

NV- With a record of 5-1 the Las Vegas Cowboys are leaving everything they have on the field and taking down any team that dares to stand in their way.

Head Coach David White, who’s been leading the NYFL youth football team since 2010, is pleased with the maturity and respect his players maintained for the other team all throughout their dominant one-sided victory.

White said, “In games like this, the kids learn they have to be mentally tough, stay focused and pay attention to the little stuff. If they are not doing that, it can be misconstrued over on the other side as disrespect. This happens on all levels in football, from the NFL to Pop Warner – it’s good they learn proper conduct at a young age.”With one loss of the season the Cowboys collegiate team unleashed a beast the Ravens were not ready for on Wednesday Oct. 28, and are now focused on this weeks back-to-back games. The Ravens, who fell to the Cowboys 60-0, felt a wrath that many others have, the Cowboys has outscored their opponents 162-6 since their only loss of the season on Oct. 7.

While big victories are what fuels the fire in these young athletes, head coach David White makes sure the boys understand that every play must count for something.

Running back Cevion Gurka started the scoring landslide with a 20-yard touchdown run on the Cowboys’ first possession before Andre Williams, wide receiver, caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Donovan Smith. Ikaik Ragsdale closed the first quarter with an interception returned for a 24-yard touchdown.

While great passes were caught the running game was as dominant as ever. Running back Ragsdale led the charge with 88 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Quarterback Dana White ran for an impressive 65 yards and a touchdown on three carries, and Bryan Certain, running back, had 55 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.

The Las Vegas Cowboys defensive proved they are a force to be reckoned with. Two intercepted passes, a forced fumble, 15 total yards gained offensively, and three first downs were all the Ravens were able to achieve against the strong defense, and Tai Tuienei, defensive-end, who led the charge with 6.5 tackles.

As the schedule gets tougher the Cowboys are ready to play the Falcons, a team compared to the Henderson Cowboys, only team that beat the Las Vegas Cowboys and Cheyenne Middle School, the top team in the middle school league.

The Cowboys vs. the Rebels will be a huge inner-league match up as the Cowboys prepare to play the top team in their league. Playing two top football teams in consecutive nights is a challenge the Cowboys are more than eager to take; starting middle linebacker Ma’a Gaoteote is ready and looking forward to playing.

“We have to come 10 time stronger than we did in this game,” Gaoteote said. “Even though we are winning, we have to keep going full speed. It feels great knowing that we’ll get another chance at the Henderson Cowboys or Gators if we can win. It will feel great if we win both. We’ve done it before, and we’ll be ready to play.”

Next on the Cowboys Schedule:

The Las Vegas Cowboys will take on both the Falcons Tuesday Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and the Rebels Wednesday Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at All-American Park.

About the Las Vegas Cowboys:

Sports enthusiasts Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta founded the Las Vegas Cowboys in 2010. Their mission was to form a competitive youth tackle football team built on principles and a strict code of conduct among the players, coaches, and parents alike. Known today as “The Cowboy Way,” former Bishop Gorman and Division 1 Head Football Coach David White reinforces these values while the team strives for a successful season and a championship tradition each year.
