Jonathan Jones

FOX SPORTS1 Interview With UFC’s Dana White:  “He (Jon Jones) Didn’t Say A Lot. Obviously, He’s Got To Handle This, His Legal Proceedings. We Wanted To Find Out What The Facts Were. A Lot of Things Are Being Said Out There About What Happened That Day, A Lot of Them Are Untrue.”

Bottom Line: Jones is Stripped of His Title and Suspended Indefinetly From The UFC. He will not be fighting in UFC 187 against Johnson. Daniel Cormier is getting the shot at Johnson for the now vacant belt and he’s pumped up! The following article is one I just posted today. I decided to just update this post and add the new information at the beginning.

IT’S IMPORTANT TO FIGHT FOR WHAT’S RIGHT by Dr Joe Kasper

We live in a world where some people do not always speak the truth, have poor communication, hide behind text, email, face time, voicemail, etc.People have jobs where they rat out other people for things they could have solved by speaking to the person they have an issue with face to face. I know because I have been stabbed in the back on a number of occasions when I had a job for things I never did or said. I actually feel sorry for those people who live swallow lives like that, as it is a part of their being.

RIP Robin Williams - LasVegasNewsBlog.comRobin Williams, Academy Award-winning Actor and Grammy Award Comedian, Died Today, August 11, 2014 of Apparent Suicide.

The following content between the dotted lines were written by a very good friend. I saw her post about Robin Williams on FACEBOOK and asked if I could repost here on LasVegasNewsBlog.

Written by Elizabeth Taher Kovic
It’s always so jarring when someone like Robin Williams dies. Particularly because like many of my peers, we felt like we almost knew him. His familiarity was like one of the kids you went to high school with. The one that was ways doing something when the teacher’s back was turned. The one that said everything cleverly. All the things you thought, that flew out of his mouth so brilliantly.

Probably the one who went home at night and cried in the darkness. The one who never, ever let his guard down. The one who hid behind the funny man mask. Busy parading around with a clown nose and a lampshade hat. Not sure which demons he was fighting. We all have our share. His brand of humor was delicious, like Shakespeare’s Puck. A mischievous imp who gets the love in the end.

I am so saddened to see him go. He gave his audiences so many gifts. Rip Robin Williams. Just one more gone before you had the right to go.

As I read my friends post on FACEBOOK, Elizabeth expressed what I was thinking. He touched so many peoples lives in a rainbow of ways. Thank you Elizabeth Kovic for allowing me to use your post about Robin Williams.

SOME of MY FAVORITE ROBIN WILLAMS QUOTES:
– Cocaine is God’s way of telling you you are making too much money.- I went to rehab in wine country just to keep my options open.

– Jonathan taught me that the world is open for play, that everything and everybody is mockable, in a wonderful way.

– Comedy is acting out optimism.

– See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time.

SOME of MY FAVORITE ROBIN WILLIAMS MOVIES:
As an Actor he had over “102 Movie” Credits! Not to mention Voice-Over Work, Writing work, Producer,Director…

NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT SUICIDE and DEPRESSION:
The Following Statisitics Were From http://www.save.org

Suicide takes the lives of nearly 30,000 Americans every year.

  • Many who attempt suicide never seek professional care.
  • There are twice as many deaths due to suicide than HIV/AIDS.
  • Over half of all suicides occur in adult men, ages 25-65.
  • Over half of all suicides are completed with a firearm.

PLEASE NOTE:
80% of people that seek treatment for depression are treated successfully.
15% of those who are clinically depressed die by suicide.

What is Vertigo?

Brain Werner and VickieWhat is VERTIGO? Vertigo is a sensation of spinning, whirling and loss of balance. One often feels sick to their stomach when a vertigo event occurs.

Vickie Pieper’s Vertigo Story…
On March 3, 2014 I took Vickie Pieper to QuickCare in Las Vegas because we thought she had a concussion due to bumping her head on a shelf. It swelled up like a golf ball. Plus, she was extremely dizzy and could not keep her balance. The doctor at QuickCare said Vickie needed to go the the emergency room immediately due to the severity of the bump.

Turns out she did indeed have a severe concussion and a bad case of “VERTiGO”. The hospital tried treating the vertigo to no avail. Then we heard about Brian Werner from “FYZICAL Therapy & Balance in Henderson, Nevada. Vickie had 3 session with them. All was well.

Last week, out of the blue, without warning, the VERTIGO returned. Vickie struggled for 6 days. Then Brian recommended his last resort, The Epily Chair. After one session the VERTIGO was GONE! I saw this with my own eyes. The session in the chair was rough on Vickie, then watching the monitor with Brain Werner, we saw the vertigo STOPPED! No more spinning or dizziness! It was truly amazing.

Barry Meyer - President of Tuff-N-UffBarry Meyer, President of The Mixed Martial Arts Organization Tuff-N-Uff, Passed Away on  Wednesday, October 15, 2013 After a Long Battle With Depression.

Barry’s brother, Jeff Meyer, Vice-President of  Tuff-N-Uff confirmed during a conversation with MMAJunkie.com that Barry Meyer had passed away and taken his own life.

“Barry fought valiantly against depression for several years,” Jeff said. “Today, unfortunately, he lost that battle.”

Tuff-N-Uff was founded in 1994. The purpose was to promote combat sports. In reality, what Barry Meyer did over the past 20 years, along with his brother Jeff was help young fighters to realize a dream. The dream to compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Some wanted to fight just to do it, while others trained  with the hopes that maybe someday, they may be good enough to fight in a big show like UFC. And some of those Tuff-N-Uff fighters have realized that DREAM. Those UFC fighters include Ronda Rousey, Ryan Couture and Jon Fitch, all of whom have competed in a Tuff-N-Uff event.

I met Barry Meyer in 2009 at the Orleans Hotel Casino at a Tuff-N-Uff event. This was my first MMA event. I took hundreds of photos of the event. Then created a short video over from all the photos which I posted on Youtube. I created the video for LasVegasNewsBlog.com.  A few short days later I received an email from Barry Meyer saying, ” Great Video! Hope to see you again at the next Tuff-N-Uff event.” To which I responded, ” Get me Press Credentials  and I’ll be at every fight.”

Sure enough, the next Tuff-N-Uff I had my own seat ring side with my name on it and I’ve been attending ever since.

Barry Meyer was a DREAM BUILDER, Great Friend and Very Kind person. He touched and inspired the soul and spirit of thousands of MMA fans and fighters over his 20 year career.  Barry Meyer will be greatly missed in the MMA community. I will miss my friend.
