FOX SPORTS1 Interview With UFC’s Dana White: “He (Jon Jones) Didn’t Say A Lot. Obviously, He’s Got To Handle This, His Legal Proceedings. We Wanted To Find Out What The Facts Were. A Lot of Things Are Being Said Out There About What Happened That Day, A Lot of Them Are Untrue.”
Bottom Line: Jones is Stripped of His Title and Suspended Indefinetly From The UFC. He will not be fighting in UFC 187 against Johnson. Daniel Cormier is getting the shot at Johnson for the now vacant belt and he’s pumped up! The following article is one I just posted today. I decided to just update this post and add the new information at the beginning.
Let Me First Say, I Am A Jon “Bones” Jones Fan, But Where Are His Healthy, Clean and Sober Friends?
I Just Got Off The Phone With The Albuquerque Police Department and They Supplied The Above Photo.
On April 28, 2015, it was confirmed by police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, UFC Champion, Jon “Bones” Jones was arrested in connection with a hit and run the previous day. Jones is alleged to have run a red light and crashed his car in a collision involving two other vehicles. Jones allegedly fled the scene of the crash on foot, leaving an injured pregnant woman behind in another vehicle.
Is ANYONE REALLY SURPRISED?
Let’s take a look at some of Jon Jones’s PUBLIC warning signs.
WARNING #1 – In 2012 Jones Pled Guilty to DUI – (Drove his Bentley into a pole)
WARNING #2 – In 2014 Failed Drug Test
WARNING #3 – In 2015 UFC Champion, Jon Jones Left Rehab After One Day!
WARNING #4 – In 2015 Nevada Commission Postpones Penalty
WARNING #5 – In 2015 UFC Fines Jones $25,000 For Code of Ethics Violation
WARNING #6 – In 2015 Allegedly Runs Aways From Hit & Run Accident, Marijuana found in car
WARNING #7 – In 2015 WARRANT For Jon Jones Arrest
Jones’s Attorney said upon Jones’s release from jail, “Jon is in good spirits. He wants to get down to training for this big fight. Obviously, he doesn’t want to be dealing with this right now. Jon is a great guy and is taking this all very seriously.”
REALLY!!! Jon is a great guy and taking all this very seriously? WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!
If Jon Jones was taking this seriously, he would have been asking about the women who broke her arm in the accident. Jones would be thinking about what he did. Fighting should be the last thing on his mind.
Of course he wants to focus on the upcoming fight. The last thing a person with SERIOUS problems wants to do is face problems such as these.
I started thinking, why was Jon Jones driving a rental car? It is my understanding Jones owns a number of cars. And then it dawned on me, when he got arrested and pled guilty to DUI in 2012. One of the stipulations was that he have an IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE installed in all his vehicles. If the breathalizer result is greater than the programmed concentration, the device prevents the engine from starting. I just don’t know how long he had to have those devises in all his cars.
Then on January 19, 2015, I watched Jones being interviewed on TV and he said, “I’m not a cocaine addict by any means or not even a frequent user. I just made a really dumb decision and got caught with my pants down in this whole situation.”
Not even a frequent user! What the hell does that mean? That interviewer should’ve asked, “ Well how many times have you tried cocaine Jon?”
Yes, one can get high from cocaine.
BUT DOES JONES ALSO KNOW THESE POSSIBLE SHORT TERM EFFECTS:
Heart Attack, Stroke, Seizure, Coma, narrowed blood vessels, increased body temperature, heart rate, high blood pressure, headache; increased energy, alertness, insomnia, restlessness, anxiety, violent behavior, panic attacks, paranoia, psychosis ETC…I BET NOT!
Some people may say, nobody can have a heart attack from using cocain. I can say with 100% confideence you are absoulutely WRONG, because I had a heart attack in 1981 after using cocain 1 time! Remember in the mid 1980’s basketball great Lenny Bias? YUP, died from heart attack from cocain use also.
SOME Long-term EFFECTS of COCAINE USE:
Loss of sense of smell, nosebleeds, nasal damage and trouble swallowing from snorting; infection and death of bowel tissue from decreased blood flow; poor nutrition and weight loss from decreased appetite.
Right now I have one question…
WHERE ARE JON JONES REAL FRIENDS?
The friends or inner circle members that are Healthy, Clean, Sober and tell him the truth. The ones that don’t care that he is a UFC CHAMP, but do care about his life, health and future. WHERE ARE THEY???
Better yet, does he have any truly CLEAN and SOBER friends in his inner circle? In my experience, one tends to associate with those that share similar habits, from partying, exercise, food ETC…
Jon Jones had a DUI in 2012. In my opinion, chances are, this was not his first warning. It just happened to be the first incident that got into the media. REAL FRIENDS don’t let friends drive home drunk or stoned. Jones has the money to hire a cab or limo. What up?
Heck, I’m pretty sure if he called Dana White at 2 in the morning, and said “Hey bosss, can you come pick me up, I’m drunk”. I’m pretty sure Dana is the kind of guy that would hop into the car and pick this guy up or any of the people he cares about!
Jones mother said this failed drug test (2014) stopped him in his tracks. I beg to differ, I think it may have caught his attention again, but at this point, the only thing that would stop him in his tracks is 30,60 or 90 days of REAL REHAB. A true stint in REHAB would FORCE HIM to look at his behavior, would FORCE HIM to face issues he probably would rather not face. it would FORCE HIM to see how his behavior and choices effect him and those around him.
Bottom line, this is bad for MMA. This bad for UFC. And this is bad for Jon Jones. I’m sure Reebok is just loving this right now! Their poster boy allegedly RUNNING from the scene of an accident that he caused and people were injured. No he didn’t stop to help them, he allegedly RAN!
As I said, I am a Jon Jones fan and if this is not a true wakeup call nothing is. I am also a MMA Fan, UFC Fan, and Dana White Fan. It’s time the UFC help Jon Jones get the REAL HELP he needs. Let’s get Jon Jones healthy and sober, then see what kind of champion he is. It could be we may not get to see Jones fight for a while, but if he is getting the help he needs to get his life on track, I’m good with that.
After listening to only part of the Dana White interview tonight on FOX SPORTS1 I was still a bit surprised that the focus was on his legal issues. Yes, he may have to do some jail time. However, I think his legal issues will be easy, compared to the soul searching, counseling, and personal issues that he is going to confront and finally deal with. Lot’s of people are pulling for him, including me!
Let’s also wish the women that was injured in the accident a healthy and speedy recovery.
I’d like to hear any of your thoughts on this article. Please leave a comment.
