Light Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones Retains Belt and BEATS Rashad Evans in The Main Event of UFC 145 on Saturday Night  April 21, 2012.

UFC 145 was held in Atlanta Georgia. I watched the fight from Palace Station on PPV. There were about 300 people  cheering and yelling from the seats. The audience was pretty evenly split between Jones and Evans.

It was obvious that the light weight champ Jone Jones was in control of most of the fight. In round two Jones started throwing these elbows that were  connecting big time and I thought Jones was going to knock Evans out.  I was surprised that Jones didn’t go after Rashad a bit more aggressively when Rashad was rocked. Evans looked dazed a few times during the fight. By the third round, Rashad Evans was gasping for air in the corner and there was no sign of confidence in his eyes. Jones wasn’t even breathing hard in between rounds.  I felt bad for Rashad because quite frankly, I was pulling for Rashad to WIN. Tonight wasn’t Rashad Evans night.

In the final round, Joe Rogan commented that the only chance Rashad Evans has of winning this fight is if he goes for broke… even to the point of risking being knocked out.  Rashad didn’t have it in him to attack and move forward.

My hat goes off to light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jone for WINNING the UFC 145 main event. Congratulation Jon Jones! You kicked ASS tonight.

See Ya Ring Side,
Robby LeBlanc
