AffordableHealthcareThis morning I tuned into CNN to catch the coverage of congress questioning Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius about the challenges with the Affordable Care Act rollout. AKA as “Obamacare”.

It was not just a QUESTIONING type of Meeting. The republicans beat the CRAP out Sebelius! It was disgusting to watch. It was painful hear.

It’s one thing to have a professional conversation between adults in order to discuss whatever challenges of the day happen to be. It’s quite another to BULLY, HUMILIATE, and BEATUP a person. Secretary Sebelius acknowleged and has taken responsibility for the errors and mistakes of this Obamacare rollout.

It’s no secret that the Obamacare rollout October 1, 2013 has been a mess. There is plenty of blame to go round. Maybe we will get the full story sometime, but right now we need the website corrected. However, before congress Sebelius did apologize and took responsibility for all the problems with the Affordable Health Care website.

When there is a problem one can be a help or a hinderance…
It’s very clear the Republicans are only interested in being a hinderance. During the hearing the Republicans were just down right rude and unprofessional during this meeting.

Sebelius is tough as nails. Read more

Barry Meyer - President of Tuff-N-UffBarry Meyer, President of The Mixed Martial Arts Organization Tuff-N-Uff, Passed Away on  Wednesday, October 15, 2013 After a Long Battle With Depression.

Barry’s brother, Jeff Meyer, Vice-President of  Tuff-N-Uff confirmed during a conversation with MMAJunkie.com that Barry Meyer had passed away and taken his own life.

“Barry fought valiantly against depression for several years,” Jeff said. “Today, unfortunately, he lost that battle.”

Tuff-N-Uff was founded in 1994. The purpose was to promote combat sports. In reality, what Barry Meyer did over the past 20 years, along with his brother Jeff was help young fighters to realize a dream. The dream to compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Some wanted to fight just to do it, while others trained  with the hopes that maybe someday, they may be good enough to fight in a big show like UFC. And some of those Tuff-N-Uff fighters have realized that DREAM. Those UFC fighters include Ronda Rousey, Ryan Couture and Jon Fitch, all of whom have competed in a Tuff-N-Uff event.

I met Barry Meyer in 2009 at the Orleans Hotel Casino at a Tuff-N-Uff event. This was my first MMA event. I took hundreds of photos of the event. Then created a short video over from all the photos which I posted on Youtube. I created the video for LasVegasNewsBlog.com.  A few short days later I received an email from Barry Meyer saying, ” Great Video! Hope to see you again at the next Tuff-N-Uff event.” To which I responded, ” Get me Press Credentials  and I’ll be at every fight.”

Sure enough, the next Tuff-N-Uff I had my own seat ring side with my name on it and I’ve been attending ever since.

Barry Meyer was a DREAM BUILDER, Great Friend and Very Kind person. He touched and inspired the soul and spirit of thousands of MMA fans and fighters over his 20 year career.  Barry Meyer will be greatly missed in the MMA community. I will miss my friend.

Serious Issues Arise Two Weeks Into Government Shutdown!

Now Two Weeks Into The Government Shutdown There are Serious Issues Truly Being Shed Light On With Our System of Government. (Written by Guillermo Calvillo)

Plenty of things have culminated to bring us to this point. It all starts with a large movement of political platforms based on disinformation and grey facts stated by politicians and the media. Many of these platforms included the selling of the idea that the Affordable Care Act renamed Obamacare by the far right wing of the Republican Party, as a socialist economic disaster were government controlled health care would throw us into a Nazi like experiment that would kill off our elderly.

At no point during this maelstrom of false truths or stretched out portions in the legislation taken out of context were reputed or dismissed by the more informed politicians of the Republican Party on media outlets or during town hall meetings. Instead we saw a doubling down of such rhetoric spread far and wide with politicians selling potential voters on a promise that they couldn’t keep. They promised that the fringe would over power the majority at any cost. So now we see that cost being paid in full. Never before has a political party fallen into such disarray or approval ratings. US CongressThe Republicans Party have Shutdown the United States Government! This is DISGUSTING!

It is my understanding this government shutdown is costing about 1 billion dollars a day. Yes, a billion dollars! This shutdown is effecting EVERYONE in one way or another.

Why Was The Government Shutdown?
A small group of Republicans within the party itself are still trying to defund and get rid of Obamacare. Thus, they are holding everyone else in congress hostage, at One BILLION Dollars a day!

Yesterday I heard on CNN the following dialog between Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell Discussing Shutdown. It’s evident they did not think there microphone was still active and hot.

Rand Paul:
“I just did CNN and I just go over and over again ‘We’re willing to compromise. We’re willing to negotiate.’ I think, I don’t think they poll tested we won’t negotiate. I think it’s awful for them to say that over and over again. Read more
